About Our Kitchener Waterloo Animal Centre

The Kitchener Waterloo Animal Centre was built in 1981 and is located on Riverbend Drive in Kitchener. It features a winding hallway through the building, leading to our adoption atrium. Our spacious “cat condos” are different from the traditional cat cages one would typically see in a shelter. They provide ample space for our cats to move around, play and climb onto platforms. Not to mention, a big glass window to meet their forever family for the first time!

Our dog pods at the back of the building exit onto a grass area and a trail system on the property. Thanks to our wonderful volunteer dog walkers, our dogs get to enjoy a big outdoor leash free park (bottom of the property) and the wooded trails on a regular basis.

In 2016 we opened an accredited companion animal hospital, and in 2021 we held a capital campaign which helped to update the smaller off-leash dog area attached to our building. With a gazebo for shade and easy to maintain astro turf, the new space is well-used and loved.

About Our Stratford Perth Animal Centre

The Stratford Perth Animal Centre looks a lot different these days! In 2016, we moved from a small facility to a beautiful new shelter on Griffith Road in Stratford. Our new facility has both communal cat rooms and condos, single and double dog runs with heated floors, a spacious animal kitchen, an in-house clinic, and a fantastic education room for community programming, birthday parties, yoga and more.

In 2019, we officially opened the doors to our public high-quality, high-volume, spay-neuter clinic, offering public spay neuter services for cats. In 2021 we also held a centre advancement campaign to raised funds for an off-leash dog park on property. Complete with agility equipment and easy to maintain astro turf, it is a welcome addition by both the four and two-legged!
