Welcome Kelsey!

Kelsey Metz Joins the KWSPHS team as our Community Engagement Coordinator of Education!

Kelsey Metz is the Community Engagement Coordinator-Education at the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth. She is responsible for developing and executing our school programs, as well as community education such as tours and presentations.  She works with a team of two educators in the Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth areas, visiting schools and teaching kids all about responsible pet ownership, compassion towards animals and more. 

Kelsey recently finished a Master of Education in Adult Education and Community Development at the University of Toronto. She also has a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo. Kelsey previously worked at Strong Start, the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington and the University of Waterloo. In her spare time, she likes to go hiking, read, do yoga and volunteer. She currently volunteers for the Family Partnership Program at Reception House Waterloo Region. Kelsey is passionate about public education and animal welfare, and is looking forward to meeting community members through the Humane Society’s education programs.

And we can't forget Sophie!  Sophie is an 11 year old golden doodle who enjoys walks, treats, meeting new people and going on adventures!
