The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth is pleased to offer a variety of educational programming to students, youth groups, service groups and more!

Our Humane Education program features fun, interactive, and educational presentations about specific subjects in animal welfare. We offer programs through classroom visits, in shelter tours and in many other settings. Our educators are knowledgeable and ready to answer your questions - that’s if you don’t get distracted by their canine companion!

field trips

We love to host classes for educational field trips at our centres! Receive a guided tour of one of our centres, learn about several aspects of the shelter and have hands on interaction with pets along the way (dependant on animals in the centre at that time). Your group will also have an interactive lesson in our education room.

Humane Education is about learning to care for the animals in our homes and communities. It is about fostering kindness, respect and empathy for animals. We strive to establish a sense of responsibility and make our community a better, more ‘humane’ place.

The presenter provided great information about animal safety to our students. I enjoyed how each grade level was different and connected to the curriculum. Students were engaged and felt safe to pet the dog Sophie at the end of the presentation. Sophie the dog was also amazing!!!!!
