Our award winning summer camps are a fantastic way for children to learn about responsible pet ownership, animal handling and daily care. We offer a great camper to counsellor ratio and a ton of fun!

Join the Humane Society for another summer camp season! For children ages 6 - 12, our summer camp provides a safe space to learn, meet new friends (animal and human!), and play. Each summer camp week is filled with animal themed games and activities, a weekly field trip, guest presenters, educational activities, crafts, and to end the week off right...pizza!
Children are placed in groups of campers their own age, and our camps have one of the regions' best staff to camper ratio. Our staff are passionate about the camp experience, are first aid certified, and have all had experience leading campers.

4-day week: $250
Camp hours:
9:00 am - 4:30pm
Drop off earlier than 8:40am is not available. Any pick up after 4:45pm will be charged $5, to a maximum of 5:00pm.
Vet Camp

This week long speciality program for kids ages 6 - 12 will teach them about being a veterinarian. Campers will get the opportunity to practice what it means to work with animals in hands-on activities and games - from practicing physical exams to running their own vet appointment!

What's included:
- Guest speakers with current, lived experience in a wide variety of animal themed fields
- Hands on activities that let campers experience elements of working alongside animals, created with the help of the professional guest speakers
- One day of camp dedicated to learning about different animal careers – pet sitting, dog walking, grooming, and more. Campers can visit different stations and in a career fair style day!
- Daily tours of the Humane Society, and interaction with shelter animals when possible
- A daily craft themed around that day's animal career
- High energy games led by dedicated and trained staff
- Pizza lunch on Friday
- Certificate of Completion

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth's summer camps are supported by The Waterloo Region Record - Lyle S. Hallman Foundation Kids to Camp Fund, held at Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
Materials Needed
Each day, your campers will need to come to camp with the following
- Running shoes
- Camp attire (dress for the weather, and for mess!)
- A refillable water bottle
- Sunscreen and bug repellant
- A towel (to sit on)
- A lunch with 2 snacks

Camp Refund Policy
Refund Policy: Refunds must be requested in writing, by fax or email and will be refunded in accordance with our policy. The Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society reserves the right to grant exceptions to the stated policy in extreme situations.
No Refunds for Partial Attendance: We do not give refunds when someone chooses to leave a program part way through, for any reason, as our expenses are incurred before the start of the program, and cannot be recovered.
Weather Conditions: Camp will take place in all weather conditions – should camp need to be cancelled due to extreme weather – campers will be notified the morning of the program and offered a refund for that day only.
Refund Guidelines:
15 days or more notice for refund – 10% program fee deducted, per participant.
14 days notice or less for refund – 50% fee deducted
Once program has begun – no refund, for any reason, as our costs have already been incurred
