Erin's Mane Event Fundraiser
My name is Erin Klodt, and I am the Donor and Customer Experience Supervisor at the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth. There are two causes very close to my heart, supporting cancer patients and helping animals in need, which is why I’m taking on this special fundraising effort. I’ll be donating my hair to Chai Lifeline Canada to help create wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment, giving them a sense of confidence, dignity, and normalcy during an incredibly difficult time. This is deeply meaningful for me.
Alongside this, I’m raising funds to support animals who rely on the Humane Society for safety, care, and second chances. This journey is about compassion in all its forms — standing beside people when they feel most vulnerable, and showing up for animals who cannot ask for help themselves.
Every dollar raised helps provide shelter, nutritious food, medical care, and love to animals who arrive frightened, injured, or unsure of what comes next. Your support ensures they are met with kindness, comfort, and hope from the moment they walk through the doors.
And here’s where it gets fun — I’ve set some fundraising goals to challenge our community so that we can celebrate our impact together:
$500 – Temporary dyed ends
$1,000 – Pixie cut
$2,500 – Bleached and spiked
$5,000 – Permanently dyed bold colours
$7,500 – Shaved design
$10,000 – Donate it all and shave my head
Every contribution — no matter the size — directly improves the lives of animals in our community while also helping bring comfort and confidence to a child facing cancer.
Thank you for always showing up for animals, for believing in second chances, and for being part of this incredible Humane Society family.
