Thank you for your interest in fostering! The majority of our animals are placed in foster care with our foster volunteers. Foster caregivers provide temporary homes for foster animals while they wait to find their furever homes. If you are looking for a rewarding experience, consider becoming a foster volunteer.
GENERAL FOSTER REQUIREMENTS
Foster families best suited for this role:
- Over the age of 18
- Based out of the Waterloo Region for the KW Animal Centre
- Based out of Perth Country or surrounding areas for the SP Animal Centre
- Existing animals in their home are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and have current license tag(s) for canines
- If renting their residence, have written consent from their landlord to allow foster animals in the home
- Have time to care for the animals
- Have access to transportation for vet appointments/medical emergencies
- 2 reference checks will be required in order to proceed in the foster application process
