Junior Vets in Training (Ages 7-10)


Join us for Jr. Vets in Training, the perfect program for your little animal lover. Jr. Vets in Training is for children ages 7 -10. Each class is led by either an RVT or a veterinarian. Children will learn about exotic animals, how to do a physical exam on an animal, and more!

Join us for Vets in Training, the perfect program for your animal lover. Vets in Training is for children ages 10-14. Each class is led by either an RVT or a veterinarian. Participants will learn about physical exams, surgeries, X-Rays, and more.

Senior Vets in Training (14+)


Sr. Vets in Training (Sr. VIT) is a five week program offered to students 14+. Students will dive into the world of veterinary medicine and get an in-depth look at what it's like to work with animals.

Cost: $350

WHAT CAN SR. VITS EXPECT TO LEARN?

  • Animal anatomy
  • Physical exams
  • How to run a vet appointment
  • Diagnostics and x-rays
  • Hospitalization (meds, bandaging, catheter)
  • Wound healing

Refund Policy:

Refunds will be made if requested in writing by email and will be refunded in accordance with the schedule below. The Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society reserves the right to grant exceptions to the stated policy in extreme situations.

No Refunds for Partial Attendance or Illness:

We do not give refunds when someone chooses to leave a program part way through, for any reason.  All of our expenses are incurred before the start of the program, including materials and staffing.  

Weather Conditions:

Birthday Parties will take place in all weather conditions - should a party need to be cancelled due to extreme weather (winter storm where safety is compromised), parents will be notified the morning of the program and offered a refund or offered to reschedule.

Refund Guidelines:

15 days notice or more for refund – 10% program fee deducted,

14 days to 72 hours notice or less for refund - 50%

72 hours notice or less - No refund

Once program has begun - No refund
